A New Phase - The Dreaded Toddler

A new phase is upon us.  If you have read my previous posts, you know that I have said we have been in a good phase, knowing that children grow in phases and it could switch at any time.  Well...that time is here.

Baby Stella is disappearing and toddler Stella is making a strong appearance!  She is now walking up a storm...doing circles around our living room and kitchen.  This means she has developed a strong sense of independence and wants to do everything by herself.  However, at the same time, she has developed a little clinginess to mama and seems to get scared or nervous when she is with new people or can't see me.  In addition, she has started throwing little fits if she doesn't get her way, although she is still easily distracted.

Ok - that is the bad but here is the good - She is still an AMAZING sleeper despite cutting 2 molars!  She is an an excellent eater...maybe too excellent.  Every time we sit her down to eat, she shoves food in her mouth like she hasn't eaten in days.  Occasionally she'll shove so much in that she'll gag, spit it out and start all over again.  She pretty much eats anything.  Sometimes she doesn't like fruits but she loves cheese, raisins, any meats, rice, eggs, peas, carrots, asparagus...you name it, she eats it!  Fortunately, we are now at a place where she pretty much eats whatever we do for dinner which is great for family meals.  Here she is enjoying a taco noodle dish...

Here is little miss sassy Stella posing in her new sunglasses, which she loves wearing by the way!  Oh yeah...that's right...she's rockin a side pony!  Summer...HERE WE COME!
